Why I don’t believe teenagers so much:
An increasing number of students are turning to “parent for hire” services to avoid getting in trouble at home. These commercial guardian agencies provide a fake parent, friend or lover in return for an hourly fee. More than 30 such services can be found on Internet portals. The services have legitimate uses, such as providing a substitute parent to stand in for a deceased one at a wedding. But recently, students have begun employing the services for darker purposes, such as deceiving teachers and getting illegal abortions.
South Korea is just one example. I believe the incentives are the same here, in Brazil. Cheating can be easy, but the aggregate consequences aren’t that beautiful one. Why to cheat instead of study? In classroom, some think the causes are related to the social acceptability, as you can read in this article.
