“Some of the Korean audience members screamed at me and mocked me, saying that I am not a real Korean but Japanese. I realized that Zainichi Koreans are not accepted fully in Japan or in South Korea. I always feel stuck in between the two countries,’’ said Kim. “Rather than in nationality, I try to find my identity in juggling, in giving happiness to people with my performances.’’
